Introduction
HDD horizontal hole opener
Horizontal openers, also known as HDD reamers, are used to expand pilot holes in horizontal directional drilling (HDD) - the use of HDD when excavation and excavation are not possible, and this drilling technology provides a steerable trenchless way to drill underground.


The main structure features
Rock reamer with replaceable tools was developed for large-diameter HDD projects in which extending downhole service life is critical. The larger bearing and cutter greatly extend the downhole life than the traditional small cutter.
Replaceable milling cutter sets are available in TCI and milled tooth styles, suitable for various rock formations. All drills have three cutters in the body, which can open four holes of different sizes.
All tool bearings are metal sealed. The cutter lock is used to prevent cutter failure.

Field of use
There are three stages
1 .the first stage is to drill a small diameter pilot hole.
2. The second stage is enlarge the hole with a larger diameter cutting tool called an HDD Reamer,
Rock Reamer or Hole Opener.
3. The third stage is inserting the casing pipe or other product into the enlarged hole.

Cutting structure
The reaming bit mainly consists of four or more cones. The main cutting tooth is a new wear-resistant alloy welded with tungsten steel and carbide blade. The service life of reamer can be prolonged by using high quality tungsten carbide teeth with new formula and new technology. The guide is a cone bit or a pneumatic bit.
Sealing and lubrication
The bearing seal adopts high performance O-ring seal or metal seal bearing, and uses imported grease specially used for drill bit.
